If ever I needed an incentive to feed the eagles I got one this year before the feeding even started. Working in my office above the garage I heard a faint knock on the door. When I opened it I felt I recognized the face but couldn’t place it. “Are you the gentleman that feeds the eagles?” she asked. That placed the face, I recognized her as one of the faithful eagle watchers. “Yes,” I replied, happy to place the face. “I wanted to thank you for all the work you do feeding the eagles,” she replied and with that handed me a piece of paper. It was a note of appreciation wrapped around a gift card from Robins. I was so taken aback that I neglected to ask her name. I thanked her and muttered something about loving to feed such magnificent birds but with that the short meeting was over. Every once in a while I am amazed by the incredible kindness of people and this was one such occasion. So, nameless friend, thank you for making my day and for caring, as I do, about the stars of our winter show. Malcolm kindly shared his gift certificate with the community members during an evening planning meeting in January, Thanks Malcolm! - Meg
